The Minnesota Twins started their season Saturday with a road game against the Baltimore Orioles. The Twins got spanked by Baltimore 8-2.
Most Twins fans are hoping that this season doesn’t follow the path that it did last year, considering the fact that they just received a new stadium just a few seasons ago.
Twin fans everywhere are starting to wonder whether or not Joe Mauer was worth the $184 million, eight year contract extension deal that he received last year because of injury issues.

Tiger Woods has become one of the most talked about athletes in the mainstream media, and I feel that he is still one of the greatest athletes of all time.
He has won countless tournaments and even has a few Grand Slams under his belt.
When the sex scandal arose between his family, it was obvious what would happen to his golf game and that people would expect that Tiger Woods would never be the same golfer.
Back in 2009, Tiger Woods won one of his last tournaments because it was shortly after that when everything came out about him and his multiple mistresses.

Tim Tebow has become one of the most controversial players in the NFL.
I feel that the signing of Tebow could be one of the biggest mistakes that the New Your Jets could make for a number of reasons. First of all he is not the player that ESPN has made him out to be.
Everybody talks about last year’s season and what he has done for the Broncos, but what has he actually done? In my mind absolutely nothing. He did not win the Super Bowl, yes he did make the playoffs, but when you look at the league he was in it is easy for any sports fan to understand why the Broncos made it to playoffs last year.

Men’s Club Hockey has had another outstanding year. The team will be traveling to Chicago, Ill this weekend to Regional’s, and will be facing DePaul University, who ended their season last year.
The Huskies club team has had an exceptional season with an impressive 18-4-1 record. “We had a pretty weak division this year other than Northern Michigan, but the other teams include the U of M, Minnesota-Duluth, MSU-Mankato, St. Thomas and Wisconsin,” said Eric Chester.

Men’s baseball is in the full swing of things. With the season already underway the Huskies were able to win their first two series, starting off the 2012 season 4-0, after destroying the University of Mary in both games of their double header two Saturday’s ago.
The Huskies then played Minot State in a double-header and blew them out in both games. The score of the first game was 10-2. The second game of the double-header was an even bigger blow out. The Huskies put up 19 runs showing their strength on route to a 19-3 victory. Scoring 29 runs in two games shows the Huskies are starting right where they left off last season.

Friday’s Game
- Huskies’ defender Michelle Burke dives forward to try block the shot from Beavers forward Sadie Lundquist at the National Hockey Center Friday afternoon.
The Huskies played a great game, but were unable to overcome the Bemidji State Beavers losing the first game of the series 3-2. The Huskies battled the entire game, but were unable to pull off a tie or victory.
The first period was one of the better periods that the Huskies have put together lately. Huskies Captain Jaclyn Zabrick was able to beat goaltender Zuzana Tomcikova at 16:21 into the first period. Callie Dahl and Ellie Sitek assisted on the goal.

Fridays Game
The Huskies cheer while they score a goal in the final minutes of the game on Saturday.
The #1 Wisconsin Badgers showed their true colors when pounding the Huskies 5-0 in Friday night’s game. It seemed as if the outcome of the game was predetermined because the Badgers came to own the Huskies in the goal category.
The first period was very entertaining, with Wisconsin having many scoring chances and the Huskies having few scoring chances. It was only a matter of time until the Badgers would break the 0-0 tie. At 12:12 into the first period the Badgers Hilary Knight would break that tie by beating freshman goaltender Julie Friend.
