August has snuck up on us once again which means hockey season is only two months away. The Huskies travel to New Hampshire to take on Wildcats in their first series of the year on Oct. 12-13. Once they return, they will face an unfamiliar opponent in Alabama-Huntsville at the newly renamed National Hockey and Event Center on Oct. 19-20.
Along with the new name, the National Hockey and Event Center is also going through a major transformation. It is currently under the first phase of a two-phase remodeling makeover. The first phase will not be completed by the time the hockey season kicks off, but will be far enough along so that all home games will still be played in it throughout the 2012-13 season.
