SCSU will invest in a high definition future, and changes could take place as early as September.
The university announced that it will invest $4.8 million in broadcasting upgrades, according to the university website.
The funds will be used to complete an overhaul of TV cable and broadcast delivery systems, resulting in digital, high-definition broadcasts from “many venues on campus,” the release said. The university currently utilizes an analog system.
As the result of extensive study by a broad-based Media/Broadcasting Work Group and campus-wide cost savings and carryover funds, the money was saved.
